The idea of strength training scares a lot of women. There’s this notion that you’ll gain weight and become large/bulky.
This is a myth I need to break down for my clients regularly. I argue so passionately for the incorporation of strength training in your weight loss regime because it WORKS. And it works WELL.
Here’s some fitness nerd science for ya…
Strength training can burn just as much as, if not more, fat than cardio. Yes, cardio can shrink you down. But this shrinking includes not only fat but MUSCLE. Strength training yields a high EPOC (or Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption). To put it simply, this means that your metabolism is revving. If done correctly, your EPOC can stay elevated anywhere from 24-48 hours after your strength training session. (AKA you are burning calories for up to TWO DAYS after you’re completed a strength training workout!)

We’ll be kicking ass with workouts 4-5 days per week, and following a Paleo-style diet. (No specific meal plan included with this program) All I ask is that you show up, you put in the effort and you TRUST.

This online program is 4 weeks, and includes a customized 4-5 day per week program, a one-time health/fitness consult, video tutorials and accountability. HERE’S THE LOW-DOWN
- Equipment you’ll need: Stability ball and at least one pair of dumbbells
- You will be given a grocery list of Paleo-inspired clean-eating food ideas and recipes to focus on to help fuel them
- You will be asked to track meals using MyFitnessPal so I can review them regularly
- You will be expected to follow a 4-5 day per week workout plan that includes written workouts and hyperlinked videos
- Exercises are customized and will be appropriate for ALL levels, with modified options for beginners and progression options for more experienced clients. The workouts will include strength/weight training, function training techniques and HIIT workouts
- You will be required to pay in advance (in full) and fill out all health forms, waivers and liability forms before the program can begin.
